She had always loved him from afar, but he never noticed her. He was too busy chasing after other women, who only broke his heart and left him in despair. She wished he would see her for who she was, a faithful friend and a devoted lover, who would never hurt him or betray him. She knew he was the one for her, even if he didn't feel the same.

One day, she decided to take a risk and confess her feelings to him. She wrote him a letter, pouring out her soul and quoting Hafiz Shirazi's verses:

> I wish I could show you, when you are lonely or in darkness,
> The astonishing light of your own being.

> Even after all this time, the sun never says to the earth,
> "You owe me." Look what happens with a love like that.
> It lights up the whole sky.

> Your love has made me dance all over this world,
> For no reason I turn around and around.

She sealed the letter with a kiss and left it on his doorstep, hoping he would read it and understand. She waited for his reply, but none came. She wondered if he had received it, or if he had thrown it away without a glance. She felt a pang of sadness, but also a glimmer of hope. Maybe he was just too shy to respond, or maybe he needed some time to think.

She decided to give him a sign, something that would make him realize how much she cared for him. She bought a bouquet of roses, his favorite flowers, and sprinkled them with her perfume. She sneaked into his garden at night, and placed them on his windowsill, where he would see them in the morning. She hoped he would appreciate the gesture, and maybe even smile.

She left before he woke up, and waited for his reaction. She checked her phone every few minutes, hoping for a call or a text. But nothing came. She felt a surge of disappointment, but also a flicker of faith. Maybe he was just too busy to contact her, or maybe he wanted to surprise her.

She decided to give him another chance, something that would make him fall in love with her. She baked him a cake, his favorite dessert, and decorated it with his name. She knocked on his door, and hid behind a bush, where he couldn't see her. She hoped he would open it and find the cake, and maybe even taste it.

She saw him come out of his house, and walk towards the door. She held her breath, and watched him pick up the cake. She saw him look at it, and then throw it in the trash. She heard him curse, and slam the door. She felt a stab of pain, but also a shred of love. Maybe he was just too angry to appreciate her, or maybe he didn't know it was from her.

She decided to give him one last try, something that would make him change his mind. She wrote him another letter, this time more desperate and more daring. She told him she loved him more than anything, and that she would do anything for him. She asked him to meet her at the park, where they had first met. She hoped he would show up and talk to her, and maybe even kiss her.

She went to the park, and waited for him. She wore her best dress, and put on her best smile. She looked at the clock, and counted the minutes. But he never came. She felt a tear roll down her cheek, but also a spark of grace. Maybe he was just too scared to face her, or maybe he had found someone else.

She decided to give up on him, and move on with her life. She realized he was not worth her time, or her love. She remembered Hafiz Shirazi's words:

> Ever since happiness heard your name, it has been running through the streets trying to find you.

> Don't be sad. Anything you lose comes round in another form.

> The heart is a thousand-stringed instrument that can only be tuned with love.

She smiled, and walked away. She knew she deserved better, and that she would find it someday. She knew he was not the one for her, even if she had felt the same.
