There is a big distance between my best interest and me who is drunk and broken.
Look at the difference in distance from where to where! Where am I and where is expediency?

My heart got upset by the monastery (the place of worship of the Sufis) and their cloak of deception.
Where is the Deir Moghan and where is the pure wine?

What relationship can roguery have with righteousness and piety?
Where is the proportion of listening to the sermon and singing and songs and the sound of the Rabab?
***

What perception and understanding can the heart of enemies have from the face of the friend?
How can a dead lamp be compared to the sunshine?

Since the crimson makes us see, it is the soil of your throne
at least please tell me where to go from this throne?

Don't be misled by the greed of Yar's dimple that the well is on the way (the path is difficult)
O my heart, where are you going with this haste?
***

The time of connection has passed and gone! Remember it well!
Where did that cuteness, smile, and charm go, and where did that blame and reproach go?

Do not expect patience or sleep from Hafez.
What is tolerance? What is patience and where is sleep?

*******************************************************

He had always followed the rules. He prayed five times a day, fasted during Ramadan, avoided alcohol and pork, and respected his elders. He was a good Muslim, a good son, a good citizen.

But something changed when he went to college abroad. He met people from different backgrounds, cultures, and faiths. He learned about history, science, and philosophy. He saw the world in a new light, full of possibilities and diversity.

He began to question his own beliefs. He wondered why God would create so many different people, only to condemn most of them to hell. He wondered why his religion was so rigid, so intolerant, so oppressive. He wondered if there was more to life than following the rules.

He felt guilty for his doubts. He feared the wrath of God, the judgment of his family, the rejection of his community. He tried to suppress his curiosity, his creativity, his individuality.

But he couldn't. He wanted to explore, to experiment, to express himself. He wanted to be free.

He had always followed the rules. But now, he stopped judging others only because they acted or thought differently.
