Aman "The Snack Guy" Sharma, a mid-tier YouTuber known for his over-the-top food reviews, was live-streaming to his 50,000 subscribers from his tiny Mumbai apartment. Today’s episode: "Rating the Best Chai in Mumbai from Zomato!"

“Alright, folks,” Aman said, adjusting his camera. “I ordered the classic cutting chai from ‘Aunty’s Authentic Chaiwala.’ Let’s see if it lives up to the hype.”

The doorbell rang. Aman grabbed the Zomato bag with dramatic flair, hyping up his audience. “And here it is, my liquid gold! Let’s—”

He paused mid-sentence, pulling out not chai but a plastic container of dal makhani.

The chat exploded:
_‘Bro, chai turned into lunch! 😂’
‘Aunty’s dal makhani review incoming?’

“Wait, what?!” Aman said, holding the container up to the camera. “This is NOT chai. Unless… it’s some revolutionary new chai dal fusion I don’t know about.”

He immediately switched into “angry customer mode” and dialed Zomato support, putting the conversation on speaker for his audience.

“Hello, Zomato? Yeah, I ordered chai, but I got dal makhani instead,” he said, pacing the room.

The customer service rep, Ramesh, responded in a calm voice. “Sir, dal makhani is not part of our chai menu. Are you sure you ordered from the correct restaurant?”

“Of course, I’m sure!” Aman shot back, pulling up his order. “See? Cutting chai, one cup. Not butter dal latte!”

Ramesh paused. “Sir, I think the delivery partner might have swapped your order. Please hold while I check.”

As Aman waited, he dramatically tilted the dal container to the camera. “Look at this consistency! It’s beautiful, sure, but I’m not about to dip a Parle-G biscuit into this.”

The chat went wild.
‘DO IT. Dip the biscuit!’
‘We need a taste test NOW.’

Before Aman could say no, curiosity got the better of him. He grabbed a Parle-G, dipped it into the dal, and took a bite. “Oh no…” he mumbled. “This is… amazing?”

The chat erupted:
‘Snack Guy approved dal chai!’
‘New collab: Aunty’s Dal Makhani & Chai Fusion Café.’

Just as Aman was warming up to his unintended meal, Ramesh came back on the line. “Sir, I’ve confirmed the issue. The chai you ordered was delivered to someone else. But don’t worry, we’ll send a replacement immediately.”

Aman grinned mischievously at the camera. “Wait, Ramesh. I have an idea. Can I talk to the person who got my chai?”

After a long pause, Ramesh said, “Uh… let me try.”

Moments later, a crackly voice joined the line. “Hello? This is Preeti.”

Aman leaned into his mic. “Hi, Preeti. Did you get a random cup of chai instead of dal makhani?”

“Yes! And I’ve been trying to figure out how chai pairs with butter naan!” she laughed.

“Preeti, I have your dal makhani, and I think you have my chai. Should we, uh, meet for a swap?”

Preeti chuckled. “Sure, let’s fix this mess.”

The next day, Aman uploaded a follow-up video titled Zomato Delivered a Love Story?!. He filmed his meeting with Preeti at a local park, where they exchanged their misplaced orders and shared chai and dal together. The video went viral, with fans dubbing them “Chai and Dal Goals.”

Zomato even chimed in on Twitter: “We’re glad we could bring people together, one order mishap at a time. #ChaiTales”

Aman didn’t just get his chai. He got a viral hit and a dinner date with Preeti. “From dal to love,” he said, raising his cup in the final frame, “it’s all in the mix.”
