The feud was everywhere. Headlines screamed Hollywood's Biggest Fight Yet: Ava DuMont and Chris Stellan, co-stars of the blockbuster franchise Eclipse, had turned their onscreen chemistry into offscreen chaos. Accusations flew like daggers in viral interviews and cryptic social media posts.
But no one expected Zoey Harrington to get involved.
Zoey wasn’t even in Eclipse. She was a pop star, not an actress, known more for her glittering gowns and catchy anthems than for her opinions on Hollywood spats. That all changed one afternoon when, mid-podcast, Zoey veered off topic.
“I mean, I don’t know Ava or Chris personally,” she began, her voice casual, “but maybe if they spent less time sniping at each other and more time figuring out what they actually want, we wouldn’t have to watch this mess unfold.”
The comment hit the internet like a wildfire. Within hours, #ZoeySaidIt was trending, a mix of fans applauding her boldness and critics accusing her of sticking her nose where it didn’t belong.
Two days later, Zoey received an unexpected call.
“This is Ava DuMont.”
Zoey froze, her smoothie halfway to her lips. Ava’s voice, sharp and clipped, carried the same gravitas that made her a star. “I assume you’ve seen the fallout from your little… observation.”
“I—uh—yeah. Sorry if I overstepped,” Zoey stammered, already regretting everything.
“You weren’t wrong,” Ava admitted, surprising her. “Chris and I have… issues. I just don’t see how we fix them when he’s too busy playing the victim.”
Before Zoey could respond, her phone buzzed again. A new number. Against her better judgment, she answered.
“Zoey, this is Chris Stellan.” His tone was smoother, but no less intense. “I’m guessing Ava’s called you already. She probably made me out to be the villain. Typical.”
Zoey blinked. “Wait, are you two using me as a go-between now?”
Chris chuckled. “Well, you did call us out. Might as well see if you’re as insightful as everyone seems to think.”
And just like that, Zoey found herself in the middle of Hollywood’s most explosive feud.
For the next week, her phone became a battleground. Ava vented about Chris’s ego. Chris ranted about Ava’s control freak tendencies. Zoey, caught in the crossfire, tried to maintain some semblance of neutrality.
“Have you tried actually talking to each other?” she suggested during one particularly heated exchange.
Ava snorted. “Please. He’d just twist my words.”
Chris scoffed. “Yeah, because she’s such a saint.”
But Zoey didn’t back down. “Look, you’re both passionate, talented people. That’s why Eclipse works. Maybe if you stopped treating each other like enemies, you’d remember that.”
Her words must have struck a chord because a week later, Ava and Chris appeared together at a press event, smiling and joking as if nothing had happened.
Zoey watched from home, her phone blessedly silent for the first time in days. She shook her head, equal parts relieved and bewildered.
When the host asked about their sudden reconciliation, Ava smirked. “Let’s just say we had a… mediator. Unexpected, but effective.”
Chris grinned. “Yeah, she’s better than most therapists I’ve met.”
Zoey groaned, sinking into her couch. She had a feeling this wasn’t the last time Hollywood would come calling.
