یا رب تو جمال آن مه مهر انگیز
آراسته ای به سنبل و عنبر نیز

پس حکم چنان کنی که در وی منگر
پس حکم چنان بود که کجدار و مریض

O Lord, you made the beauty of that lovely mist
Adorned with hyacinth and amber as well

So you rule me not to look at her
So the rules has problems in this matter

He had seen her only once, in the garden of the palace. She was the daughter of the vizier, and he was a poor poet. He had been invited to recite his verses for the king, but his eyes were drawn to her instead. She was like a vision of paradise, with her dark hair and fair skin, her eyes shining like stars, and her lips like rose petals. She wore a dress of silk and jewels, and smelled of hyacinth and amber.

He knew he could never have her, but he could not forget her. He wrote poems for her, praising her beauty and grace, and longing for her love. He sent them to her secretly, hoping she would read them and feel the same. He did not know that she had a cruel and jealous suitor, who was the king's nephew. He intercepted the poems and recognized the handwriting of the poet. He was furious and plotted to kill him.

One night, he hired some assassins to ambush the poet on his way home. They attacked him with daggers and swords, and left him bleeding on the street. He was dying, but he did not feel any pain. He only thought of her, and wished he could see her one last time. He whispered her name, and closed his eyes.

She never knew of his existence, or his love. She married the king's nephew, and lived a life of misery and fear. He beat her and abused her, and she hated him. She dreamed of escaping, but she had no way out. She wished for someone to love her, and make her happy. She wondered if there was such a person in the world.

They both died without ever meeting each other, without ever knowing the truth. They were buried in different places, far apart. But their souls found each other in the afterlife, and they were finally together. They embraced and kissed, and thanked God for his mercy. They realized that this was his plan all along, to test their faith and patience, and reward them with eternal bliss. They smiled and said:
