اسرار ازل را نه تو دانی و نه من
وین حرف معما نه تو خوانی و نه من

هست از پس پرده گفتگوی من و تو
چون پرده برون بر افتد نه تو مانی و نه من

Neither you nor I know the secrets of eternity
And, neither you nor I can read the words of the riddle

Behind the curtain is a conversation between you and me
Because if the curtain falls, remain neither you nor me

The News

Sara sat on the couch with her granny, watching the news on TV. She saw images of bombs, fires, and blood. She heard words like "conflict", "casualty", and "crisis". She felt a knot in her stomach and tears in her eyes.

"Why are they doing this, granny?" she asked. "Why are they hurting each other?"

Granny sighed and hugged Sara. "I don't know, my dear. I don't know."

"Can't we do something to stop them?" Sara said. "Can't we help those people who are suffering?"

Granny shook her head. "We can't do much, my dear. We don't know what is true in this world. We don't know who is right and who is wrong. We can't manage to worry about all the incidents in the world. We should care, but as much as we can afford."

Sara looked at her granny with confusion. "What do you mean, granny? How can we care, but not too much?"

Granny smiled and kissed Sara's forehead. "We can care by being kind to others, by sharing what we have, by praying for peace. But we can't care too much by losing hope, by hating others, by forgetting ourselves. We have to live our lives, my dear. We have to enjoy the good things that we have. We have to be grateful for every day."

Sara nodded slowly. She understood what her granny was saying, but she still felt sad. She wished the world was a better place. She wished there was no war, no violence, no pain.

She turned off the TV and cuddled with her granny. She closed her eyes and listened to her granny's heartbeat. She felt a warmth in her chest and a calmness in her mind.

She cared, but not too much.
